On Monday 2 September 2013, Carter Thomas founder Nichola Carter gave education providers and agents attending this years hugely popular StudyWorld London fair a detailed overview of latest UK immigration law developments.
Nichola covered the student credibility interview system in detail explaining not only the legislation behind the policy, but also practical steps education providers, agents and international students can take to ensure that students pass the interviews with flying colours. Nichola also explained the law relating to supplementary studies, both before and after the main course, and reminded sponsors of the fairly strict rules on the types of courses they can offer to international students and the partnerships they are permitted to enter into with other education providers under the Tier 4 system.
The final part of the session was spent considering developments that are likely to take place in the coming months, including the new Immigration Bill due in Autumn, the roll-out of a premium customer service facility to all HTS sponsors in November and the government’s new initiative to ensure that the number of international students coming to the UK grows by up to 20% over the next five years.
