On 17 April 2014 the Home Office confirmed that Education Testing Services’ (ETS) licence to carry out secure English language tests for immigration purposes had come to an end and would not be extended.
A new Statement of Changes to the Immigration Rules (HC 198) was laid before Parliament on 10 June 2014 which formally removes ETS from the list of approved secure English language test providers.
The removal of ETS from the rules takes effect on 1 July 2014. A number of transitional measures are in place and if you are an international student or a Tier 4 sponsor, you may wish to read UKCISA’s detailed information about these arrangements here.
