UKVI has published information about the first Restricted Certificate of Sponsorship (‘RCOS’) allocation meeting of 2016.
The figures confirm that a total of 1,926 were available for the January allocation and that the minimum score was 21.
1,441 RCOS were granted.
485 RCOS have been carried over and the current forecast of RCOS for February’s allocation meeting is 2,135. This figure may change if, for example, RCOS from the previous three months are unused.
Migration Advisory Committee review of Tier 2
The MAC published its review of Tier 2 earlier this week. Its recommendations as to how the numbers may be reduced include increasing the minimum salary threshold and applying an annual limit in relation to in-country applications.
The Government will decide which recommendations to implement and it is unlikely, taking into account historic conduct, that these will become law before 6 April 2016.
With only three application deadlines left before any changes are likely to be introduced, we expect to see the number of applications for RCOS rise and there is a risk that the monthly limits could be reached.
