Employers are reminded that the adjusted right to work checks that were introduced during the pandemic will come to an end on Friday 30 September.
Only right to work checks that are performed in a specified manner will enable the employer to obtain a statutory excuse against a civil penalty.
The Home Office updated its guidance for employers on 27 September 2022 and we strongly advise all those responsible for conducting right to work checks to read it in full.
We previously explained the various changes to the right to work checking legislation that have been introduced this year, including the end of adjusted checks. Please take a moment to review this information.
Our head of immigration, Nichola Carter, has also written about the changes this week for Free Movement.
