The UK Registered Traveller Service has been expanded to include visitors from 16 new countries. The service allows business travellers and frequent visitors faster entry through the UK border.
Once an application for this service is approved by the Home Office, approved registered travellers will not have to fill in a landing card and can use the ePassport gate (if a holder of an ePassport) or the UK/EU passport lane at most UK airports. Registered travellers can also use faster entry lanes at the UK’s Eurostar terminals in Brussels, Lille and Paris.
The 16 new countries that have access to the Registered Traveller Service are: Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Brunei, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Malaysia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay and Uruguay.
The Registered Traveller Service can already be used by applicants from: Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and the United States of America and already has more than 67,000 members.
Announcing the expansion of the service, Home Secretary Amber Rudd said; ‘Registered Traveller is one of the many ways this government is making it easier for businesses across the world to do business with the UK and I look forward to watching the service grow in the future.’
The Registered Traveller Service costs £70 for 1 year and takes ten minutes to apply online.
