The first conference combining the Boarding Schools’ Association’s Annual Marketing and Admissions Conference with the Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Student’s Annual Guardianship Conference is taking place on 13 March 2019.
Our head of immigration, Nichola Carter, has been invited to speak at the conference. Nichola will speaking about:
- the UK’s new immigration system for students and schools that sponsor them; and
- how those involved with the recruitment, admission and safeguarding of international students in UK boarding schools can work together to successfully navigate what can be a complex immigration system.

About the speaker: Nichola and her team have assisted many independent schools to develop international student recruitment strategies and protect their sponsor licences. Nichola represented English UK in its ground-breaking successful judicial review in 2010 and created the strategy that saw London Metropolitan University regain its sponsor licence in 2012 following revocation. She was head of immigration at city firm Penningtons Manches LLP before establishing Carter Thomas Solicitors in 2013.
