The Home Office has confirmed that the EU Exit: ID Document Check app is now available on certain iPhones.
Using the app means that those applying under the EU Settlement Scheme can upload a scan of a compatible passport or identity document and take their photo on their phone, which means they can avoid sending their passport to the Home Office or attending a biometric appointment in person.
Until now, it has only been possible to use the app on compatible android devices.
The app is currently only available for iPhone 8 and newer models. The Home Office has said that it will be available on iPhone 7 and 7 Plus shortly, following an upcoming iOS software update.
