As a result of the decision by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (‘DCMS’) to withdraw its grant funding, Tech Nation is to cease operations, including its role as an endorsing body under the Global Talent route.
The organisation has confirmed that it will ‘cease its main operations and commence business wind-down from 31 March 2023′.
In relation to Global Talent scheme endorsement applications, it has stated that ‘until further notice, Tech Nation will continue to accept new Global Talent endorsement applications’ and that previous endorsements it has issued will ‘remain valid’. Such endorsements must be used in a visa application within three months from the date of issue.
The grant previously held by Tech Nation is being awarded to Barclays Eagle Labs from 1 April 2023. However, the government has confirmed that it will not take over involvement in the visa system.
No announcement has yet been made on what will happen from 1 April 2023 in relation to endorsements. We will provide updates as soon as further information is announced.
